The First Annual “Cryptids By The Creek” Is Coming!

Hosted by Dutch Creek Winery, Steampunk Xena and Queen City Steam on October 14th from Noon to 8pm, “Cryptids By The Creek” is an event you won’t want to miss. Located in Athens, Ohio at Dutch Creek Winery, this Steampunk/Cryptids event is guaranteed to give you an afternoon of fun that is family friendly!

Kid friendly events include such things as Craft-A-Cryptid (make or take monsters) ($5-10), Face Painting ($5-15), storytelling and our costume contest which is open to all ages. Plus, Dutch Creek has a beautiful venue with lots of outdoor spaces to run around and enjoy.

Other activities going on will be Tea Dueling led by Queen City Steam with prizes ($5), wine tastings ($), music by Soul Phaser, Cryptid storytelling and discussions,Tell-Your-Own Cryptid Tale with prizes going to the best stories and a discussion on the “buzz” about bees led by Paul Freedman.

There will be some vendors on site as well with handmade items that include leather craft, jewelry, crystals, Steampunk weaponry and more.

There will be three opportunities to attend a private event led by Sara Camarata of Calamity Labs, who will be sharing two of her favorite cocktails using Dutch Creek’s mead! She will also be entertaining you with her quick wit and great knowledge of all things alcohol ($10).

Aunt K’s Kitchen Food Truck will also be there with great food including some vegetarian options.

The evening will close with a fire and movement extravaganza by Steampunk Xena at 7pm.
